70cm Sunday Net Operations Guide

70 cm Operations guide

This is the text you should follow in acting as the net control for the 70cm Sunday Night Net on 443.100.

IT IS A GUIDE. Some net control operators have deviated from this guide quite a lot, and their individual flavor to the net has been welcome. Many of us have very little to no experience in being a Net Control operator, and if you are reading this over as it is your time to be Net Control, take heart, we were all nervous and made some mistakes. But at the end of the Net, got congratulated on a job well done.

Relax, do your best, and thank you for participating.

Begin here at 9 p.m. ****************

CQ, CQ, CQ, This is the Big Country Amateur Radio Net.

Good evening, to all amateur radio operators. This is ( insert your call sign ). This is a non-club affiliated net operated for the purpose of promoting the hobby of amateur radio.

My name is ( insert your name ) and I'm your net controller this evening for the Big Country Amateur Radio net.

The net will be held every Sunday night, starting at 9:00 PM with various net controllers on a rotating basis.

If you would like to find out more about the net or see who the net controllers are for future nets, visit the internet website at www.bcarntx.org, that is (spell it) w w w dot b c a r n t x dot o r g

If you wish to contact BCARN, the email address is webmaster @ bcarntx dot org

The purpose of the net is to pass news and provide a place where every licensed amateur radio operator can meet other hams, make friends, and seek out those with a current interest in a particular aspect of Amateur Radio that also interests you.

Your participation is not only welcome, it is needed.

All check-ins are welcome. The net especially invites new checkins to join in instead of just listening to the net.

Also good evening to our scanner listeners and to any visitors to the net tonight.

The Big Country Amateur Radio Net meets on Sunday at 9 p.m. on this repeater. The PL Tone is 88.5

Again, your controller for tonight's net is ( insert your name ), and my call is is ( insert your call sign ).

C). Perform the check-in by geographic area. (PLEASE USE THIS ONLY WHEN WE HAVE A VERY LARGE NET COVERING AT LEAST THREE AREAS).

Please observe good amateur operating procedures during the net.

Before we commence general check-ins, is there any emergency or priority traffic only?

Please come now .......

Are there any check-ins with a time line or time limits? That means if you're in a rush or your hand held battery is about to expire, you are mobile and may leave the repeater coverage, or you simply wish to check in and out without making any comments...
